Work Life balance: like a clown keeping balance with his balls

You need to keep work life balance to be able to live a happy life with yourself and with your family. To get work life family balance, imagine yourself throwing balls in the air and then trying to catch all the balls without falling.

work life, balance

Keeping balance with the different life balls

The top five balls in your life are: work, family, health, friends and spirituality. Always remember that the work ball is a rubber one, which if fell to the ground it will come back to you at some time, while the rest of the balls are made of glass, if they fell down, they may break. (If they fell, repairing is always possible, but try your best to keep balance with these things is always a smarter idea we recommend to you do)

    Work ball:

Jobs come and go all the time. So do not let your worry about work affects other aspects in your life. Here are two tips to help you organize your time during work busy days schedule:

- Take advantage of the company's policies and labor law especially for women in regard to vacations and permissions.

-If you are a mother, don’t make work the first priority in your life. There is no harm in some compromise. For example, enjoy the role of an administrative officer instead of clinging to the dream of the presidency of the department.

    Family ball:

No matter how ambitious you are, be sure that the family is the one will stand by your side if everything collapsed around you. To keep balance, make sure you can determine what is important with your mind and your heart. Many mothers bear the full responsibility of the family alone without involving her children and her husband, then they end up complaining about the size of responsibility and no one cares. You should have that you learn how divide responsibilities to family members and make house rules so that all family members be happy.

     Health ball:

In the middle of a hectic day full events and responsibilities, some people may end up either ignoring their health affairs or postpone them. But in fact, your health is very important and you are responsible to pay attention to it. If you imagine for a moment that your day routine is more important than your health, ask yourself how your day could be without your health?! Your health is like a car, do not let it go without fuel.

   Friends ball:

Your friends are present in your life at all times. You can rely on them as you rely on your family. Strive for being with them and support them as they support you, not only in responsibilities and burdens, but also in raising morale and mental state.

    Spirituality ball:

Make sure to fill your heart with faith and recharge your spirituality as you manage your life roles. Feeling that you are not alone in this world and you do not have to save it will send inside you a sense of tranquility. Communicate with your Creator who always take care of you while you take care of your family.

    Life balance Prescription

To summarize, here are small prescription of tips that will help you balance the various tasks:

Arrange your priorities, and don’t overburden yourself with things above what you can handle, or with many simple tasks that others can do.

Express what is inside you! If you need help in balancing your different roles, talk with your spouse or your friends. You have all the right to ask for help and they have all the right to hear you.

Sharing with others is a sign of love. Share the responsibility with your family, divide roles, each one's role in the family and bearing responsibility will help your children deal with the difficulties of their own life.
Remember well, you are also important. Your health and psychological condition are of the utmost importance priorities. Without them, you will not be able to play with the other life balls.

7 tips on how to make your child sleep alone

7 tips on how to make your child sleep alone

My friend was talking to me about her life and how she finds it difficult to get her child to sleep alone, and despite her trials, her kid soon comes back to her in the middle of the night to sleep next to her, and here I wanted to give tips for mothers and others who suffer from the same problem. Read also: Violence on TV and your child, what should you do?!

How to make your kid sleep alone:

First: Get rid of electronic devices
Move all devices from your child's bedroom, such as TV and computer. These things drive your baby crazy, and prevent him from sleeping. Taking into account that the light in the room has to be dimmed, which stimulate your baby to sleep.

Second: follow small habits
Get your child to follow some simple habits such as a warm bath before going to sleep, teeth washing, bedtime stories. All help you to prepare your baby to the sleeping position, and lowers the level of tension in your child.

Third: Leave the room gradually
Make sure to get out of the room before your child falls into sleep, so he doesn't get used to that.  So you start to leave your child's bedroom early in a gradual way.

Fourth: Calm down his fear
Your child is expected to find a monster down his bed when you leave the room. So take a tour in the room with your child before you leave it to give him a sense of safety.

Fifth: check on your child
Certainly, you promise your child to check on him from time to time while he is a sleep. Make sure to delay this visit gradually. Try not to make it less than 5 minutes at the beginning.

Sixth: Explain the reason for your child
If your child surprised you in the middle of the night and returned to your room be firm with him, just tell him that you need him to sleep in his room, and clarify for him the reasons that he has grown and now he needs to sleep in his own room.

Seventh: Reward your child for his good behavior
When your baby sleeps alone, reward him for his good behavior so he get used to repeat this behavior all over again.

How to find inner joy?

How to find inner joy? Psychologists say happiness or Joy is not having fun. You can spend the whole day having fun with friends, but when you close the door of your room, you do not feel real joy. Inner joy and feeling good about our lives requires us to seek it. We need to train ourselves from the inside positively. We need to stop comparing our lives to the lives of others and to do the following steps:

How to find inner joy ? Psychologist Keys to a happy life

1. Gratitude

By focusing on the happiness of others you may forget to feel and count the blessings that God has given you. Joy is to begin to feel grateful. This does not happen only when things are going as you want. Our mission is to maintain this sense on an ongoing basis. How?

Train your eye to see the positive things in everything and in all the people you meet in your life rather than focusing on errors and shortcomings. These are keys to a happy life. Pay attention to the number of times you react negatively, criticize or complain. Get used to give thanks. Thank people who are giving you any service. Try to focus on what is good. This does not mean not to locate faults, but to deal with them objectively without offending or reacting emotionally.

2. Awareness

Look around you. Have you stopped appreciating the life around you? Have you lost your sense of awareness? Do you rejoice with people and things? Do you live your moments to the fullest? When we experience the fullness of life and open our eyes to see the colors of the sunset, and we hear a child laughs, smell the home dinner, we become more aware of the blessings that we have been granted and we feel a great inner joy. Even in prayer, are you aware that you only recite without meditation and focus on the meanings of words? Everything around us is a blessing; the sound of thunder, seeing lightning, rainbow, and fruitful trees ... the message is that we cannot allow life to pass near us without touching it. Joy is waiting for us if we allow ourselves to stop for a moment, thank and appreciate what we have instead of lamenting what we do not have. Let’s learn to rejoice with simple things!

3. Giving

Those who give the most are the happiest. By giving, you don’t have to give only money! You can give love, smiles, mercy, honesty, helping others, wishing good for others and all mankind. Give from what you prefer to be having and you will have more of it. Don’t cross this world without tasting the joy of giving. Try to make a difference. Real joy grows in us when we know that we have left a beautiful imprint in this world. Remember that God has granted you Life, and the world is giving you air and all what you need every moment. Giving is the law of life and happiness.  Read also: Sometimes you need to say “No”!

As we said, giving does not only mean donating to charities and strangers in need. Our families and our friends and our spouses and our children ... their hearts are wide open waiting to fill them with love. Giving can be a bright smile in times of distress, a reassuring hug at a time of anxiety, a listening ear at isolation, loneliness and despair, an encouraging word when things look bleak. Tenderness and giving is a positive energy to help other people to see things from a different perspective. And when you see the impact of what you do, you will feel a real constant joy, psychologist says. You have made the world better by living in it.

How to get rid of fear with 10 simple steps? Psychologist advise

psychologist advise on how to get rid of fear

How to get rid of fear? Many people may have fears of certain things or situations. How to get rid of those fears according to our psychologist forever with the following few facts of life, tips and tricks:

Psychologist advise:

1- Fear is the biggest psychological enemy of man. It is behind failure, diseases and bad human relationships. Love eliminates fear. By love, I mean the emotional state in which you feel mercy and goodness towards everything in life. Plunge in love with honesty, integrity, fairness, good intention and success. Live in the expectation of better luck and the best will come to you without a doubt.

2- You are born with only two types of fear; the fear from falling and the fear from noise and all other fears are acquired. Dispose of them.

3- Fear is a negative thought in your mind. Remove it now from its roots by adopting positive thoughts, our psychologist highly recommends. Trust and faith are much greater than fear, and nothing is stronger than faith in God and faith in goodness.

4- Natural fear is a good thing and unnatural fear is bad and devastating. Continuous indulge in thoughts of fear leads to unnatural fear, and obsessions that haunt the human mind and lead to psychological complexes.

5- You can overcome abnormal/unnatural fears when you know that the power of your subconscious mind can be reflected on your circumstances and direct the underlying desires of your heart into reality, psychologist says. Give immediate interest and dedication of your good intentions and desires which are the opposite of your fears, and this is the love that expels fear...

6- Do what you fear, and this will lead to the inevitable death of what you fear. Affirm to yourself “I am stronger than this fear.” Believe in yourself and you will oppress it. How to get rid of fear if also you  have a fear of not being perfect, this article will help you overcome this: What is the story of the bitten Apple? Why it has been selected?

7- Combat fear by flourishing its opposite in you. Repeat to yourself: I'm rich, I'm cool, I'm quiet, and imagine yourself in these states with real situations, and the results will be amazing.

8- Fear is the reason for the temporary oblivion in oral and written exams. Certainly, you can always get rid of this fear by always affirming that you enjoy a strong memory in everything, and imagine a close friend congratulating you for your success with vivid details, sound, and feelings. Continue in doing so and you will get all the benefits.
Faith is taking the first step even when you can't see the whole staircase

9- If you are afraid of water or swimming, swim in your imagination freely. Expose yourself to water mentally. Feel the cold water and your arms hitting water in the swimming pool. Make it a reality.
If you do this, soon you will get into the water and oppress it. This is the law of your mind.

10- If you are afraid of closed spaces such as lecture halls and elevators, etc., use the elevator mentally, and praised each of its parts and functions. Our Psychologist claims you will be amazed how quickly your fear will vanish. Read also: How to Love Yourself Again?

How to make your child smart? Psychologist Recommendation

Parents are greatly responsible for their children's education and upbringing and being smart, and the dream of every mother and father to see their child clever and superior.

Here are 6 secrets to make your child smart advised by a psychologist to help you to make it happen:

smart girl

Secret # 1: Always talk to your child

Most children learn one new word a week at the age between 18 months and two years old, and about 50-100 of words when they reach the age of two years. The Super Psychologist say that, according to the mind of children, the more you speak with the child, the more words they learn. The psychologist recommends that you talk about your day to your child every day, or tell the child what you're doing during the day, which is an effective and efficient way to get your child acquainted with a variety of vocabulary.

You can also read books to him and try to imitate the sounds of different personalities by changing your tone of voice, which works as an attracting element to draw your kid’s attention to learn different words and expressions. Be keen to let your child always hear direct conversations and not through TV, for example, which is more beneficial to the child, and it also provides a human interaction feature to improve his linguistic skills.

Secret # 2: Help your child to express himself and his feelings makes him a smart kid

The emotional intelligence of your child is very important for the development of the his cognitive social development, his well being and being smart. You can help your child learn to understand the different expressions. Teach him how to express his feelings in different positions, including negative and positive. Let him express his happiness and emotions. Help your child to build emotional intelligence; this will accompany him throughout his life. Learn how to do this in detail in this article:

Secret # 3: Play mind games with your child

Make play time with your child a time for the development of his mental skills. Play verbal or motor games to help him develop intelligence and focus his attention. You can play with him a game with rhythm to increase his ability to pay attention. Play some rhythms with your hands on a plastic surface, for example, and make him repeat the same rhythm. Buy puzzle games that develop the ability of observation and speed to improve his skills.

Secret # 4:  Psychologist recommends to give your child the space to develop creative skills

Give your child a place at home to practice his hobbies and play with his toys. Encourage him to spend time in creativity and exploration also makes him a smart kid. Pick a wall in your house and place a large paper on it and let your child paint on it, or you can bring him a blackboard and chalk, or any other means. Let your child release him imagination to invent and innovate in a special place of his own.

Secret #5: Appreciate him always and praise his efforts

Psychologists have shown that children work harder and tend to creativity and being smart when parents praise their efforts. Always make your child feel proud of what he has done even if you don’t like the result enough. Remember that he did effort to produce this work, and if you disappointed him, he may lose confidence in himself, while praise makes him develop his skills to get the best results. Experts proved that by following this way children acquire the so-called sophisticated mentality (which means that they come to realize that the more they try the better results they can make) rather than acquiring the  "fixed mindset" (i.e., the belief that they can determine what can be done in advance because of their intelligence or abilities).

Secret # 6 Point with your finger!

When your child is about 9 months old, he begins to follow what your finger points at to discover the surroundings and what you want him to view and to draw his attention to. Super Psychologist shows that children learn language faster if you point to an object- a truck for example - when the word is uttered. You can use this method to teach him the names of things around him. Read also: Eight activities for Kids you can do with them

Remember that raising an intelligent child requires from you some effort, patience, perseverance and sharing.

Advice from The book “Too Nice for Your Own Good” by Duke Robinson

Sometimes you need to say “No”!

You are always trying to do what others expect from you, and you are careful not to hurt their feelings. You run to help friends and relatives whenever they need you and avoid disappointing them even if they provoked you, then you are a too nice person and you love and care that people describe you so.

However, if you contemplated your “nice” attitude, you will discover that it is often a behavior of 'defeatism' if you say yes when you should say no, or when you pretend to be calm when you feel resentment or anger, or when you resort to lying because you fear hurting the feelings of others. You may bear burden over you can handle so as not to embarrass the people dear to you. That is in order to for you to maintain dealing with others nicely you commit many errors that may affect you in a negative way, your business, or social relationships.

One of the biggest mistakes a nice person makes is a tendency to perfection, which imposes great pressure on him/her. It requires a strenuous effort to prove oneself, and to do various tasks to the fullest, as well as the continuous attempts to satisfy others. We must clarify here that trying to reach for perfection in itself is not a problem, but it becomes a mistake when it pushes you to develop unrealistic standards for yourself, or overburden you in terms of effort, time, or money, or when it becomes an obsession to the point of hindering your performance for your business.

The first step to correct this is to have faith (and not just repeating words) that nobody is perfect, and to fully accept the shortcomings you have. After that comes the realization that perfection is not the only way to acquire the acceptance of others.

Beside the tendency for perfection, Duke Robinson summarizes in his book “Too Nice for Your Own Good” other errors that nice people do on a daily basis which are:

Mistake # 1: Taking greater commitments than you can handle: sometimes too much kindness can put you in trouble. Whether saying no to someone dear to you asking you for something makes you feel selfish and guilty, or trying to do whatever you are asked to do that drains your energy.

Mistake # 2: Not saying what you want: You may do so because you might think it is socially inappropriate, or you do not want to appear as weak, or you might be afraid of rejection or do not want to cause embarrassment to those you love. In any case, not disclosing your feelings, your requirements and suppressing what you want for the sake of others may lead you to a mental illness and may dissipate as the features of your personality.

Mistake # 3: Suppressing your resentment: the intention here is to keep your nerves calm while you boil inside as a result of the exploitation of others to you or abusing you or your feelings, which is a kind of forgery and lying to oneself and others. The call for not to suppress your resentment never means to arise like a volcano. All you have to do is to show to others that such conduct is harassing you so as not to repeat it again.

Mistake #4: Escaping from the truth: In order to be nice, you often shy away from telling the truth in order not to embarrass others but this does not either benefit them nor you. You have to tell the truth with humility and sensitivity. For example, if your wife asked you what do you think about the potatoes dish you didn’t like, you do not have to lie and say it was fantastic, there is no need also to be rude and say it was bad, but you can answer that you usually like the potatoes she makes, but its taste at this time was a little bit different. And so you get out of the situation with minimal losses.

Getting rid of the previous minor mistakes does not mean to stop being nice, but only helps us to rationalize the extra effort you try to make to be nice at all times and that often comes at the expense of your nerves and your comfort. So it is just a matter of balance to keep and maintain your mental well being, emotional and social health. If you do not suffer from being “too much nice”, you may continue reading other articles in this blog

How you can be a happy person?

What Psychologists say about the story of the jug and the cups

How you can be a happy person? Let’s do the jug experiment together. Bring a jug filled with water and some empty cups.
Imagine when you wake up every day, you begin to pour in each cup the duties and responsibilities of this day. Each cup requires from you energy, dedication and effort. For example, you start by filling the first cup (the cup of your children) from the water in the jug by waking them up to school, preparing breakfast for them,  washing them up, driving them to school, etc. and their cup is full… that’s great.

Then you go to work, and so you start to fill up the work cup… until it is full. Good job!

Then comes your spouse’s cup, the household cup, cleaning, washing, cooking, managing household, etc. then you go back to the children’s cup, homework, studying, other activities and you start to fill it again.
You did a lot of quite good job filling those cups. Then comes your time to sleep, and your jug is empty!
How do you think it will be refilled again when you wake up the next morning?  What about the day after tomorrow? and the one after it ?

How you can refill it as recommended by psychologists?!

When the jug is empty or has little, you become distressed, nervous and you feel the responsibility is a huge burden on you, and you lose pleasure in what you are doing.

Becoming a happy person

Many people think if they go out without their kids, do some shopping, go to a salon, a spa, have a massage or take care of themselves in any special way, they would be refreshed and can fill their cups all over again with the same energy. But unfortunately in most cases they do this and they don’t feel any difference!
Psychologists say that the idea is that each one of us can be energized and recharge his battery in a very different way. Many people actually don’t know what really makes them happy

Let me tell you a story of my friend who had this problem until she did some technique that helped her a great deal which was advised to her by psychologist specialized in discovering the very talented people. He asked her to write 100 things she loves most and she feels happy doing. It took her, of course, a lot of effort to do this because she almost forgot what she enjoys the most because she had been dedicating her life for her kids, house and husband for too long. After a lot of effort she managed to write 100 things. When she showed the list she came up with to the psychologist, he started to cross out things until only 10 were left. He asked her to continue adding to these 10 to reach 100 again and asked her not to repeat something she wrote before. .

After this exercise, she had 100 things in her list that she enjoys doing that she didn’t even know they make her happy or maybe she forgot that.

She started to add things from this list in her daily schedule and in her weekends. After a month she found herself doesn’t feel any effort, stress, or nervousness any more. She became a calm, cool, happy person!  She started to feel like she is playing, and it comes to her mind a lot of ideas to make her daily life much easier and she had a lot of free time and became a very happy person thanks to the psychologist who helped her discover herself.

How to let go of judgement about others?

(Building positive thinking)

Written by Rana Rayhan

How to let go of judgement about others ?
Never Judge Someone without knowing the whole story. You may think you understand but you don't

How to let go of judgement and negative thoughts about others? This means to stop judge! We were bred to judge! That is a sad fact that has been there for decades. Unconsciously and intently we judge according to certain standards we built for our lives. Everyone and everything is subject to our measures of right and wrong, good and bad, pretty and ugly…etc. and the list goes on.  The worst part is that everything and everyone can be a victim of our judgment, including the weather, and no one is innocent from practicing it.
Given that harsh fact, what can we do about it?
“Judge nothing, you will be happy. Forgive everything, you will be happier. Love everything, you will be happiest.”  ~Sri Chinmoy

How to release judgement?

The first key to releasing judgment, is realizing they are chains holding you to the ground and preventing you from one, living a rich and meaningful life, which is based on your true values, and  two establishing harmony in relationships. There is often a high price to pay for living in a mental and emotional place of judgement and fear. Just ask yourself if that cost is affordable and worthy.

The second key, is knowing that it is curable. We can let go of judgement in our lives, no matter how deeply it is rooted to our minds. From the perspective of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a mindfulness-based behavioral therapy, the mind is neither a “friend” nor an “enemy.” The mind is simply doing what minds do: producing thoughts. Therefore, the cure lies in redirecting our mindset and asking ourselves are these thoughts credible and based on facts or have we unleashed our wild imagination to turn those thoughts into beliefs? That simple practice will help us avoid unnecessary negativity and judgement that not only can result in losing good relationships with people we know, respect or love but would eventually hurt us repetitively thinking about it.

Now here are 4 effective ways to release judgment; they may not seem “easy” but are applicable if we train our minds to go for the positivity in everything:

1. Release your own judgment.

Remember: Never Judge a person whose burdens you haven't carried, whose challenges you haven't faced, whose battles you haven't fought, whose path you haven't walked. Love them and pray for them instead. You don't know what it's like to be in their shoes.
When you prematurely judge someone, you miss the opportunity to get to know who they are and what makes them unique.  You allow your limited perspective to cloud your vision from seeing the good in them. If they’re close to you, you miss the opportunity to love them more.

Do not judge, and you will never be mistaken – Jean Jacques Rousseau

Releasing judgement also means releasing judgement of yourself. We can tend to be our own worst critic. When we release judgement of ourselves, we allow for more room to love ourselves. Areas that we were seeking to find improvement can gradually get better because we have switched our focus to a positive loving perspective rather than a negative, critical one.

A day spent judging another is a painful day. A day spent judging yourself is a painful day. - Buddha

As you slowly begin to release judgment, you find you will experience less judgement from others.  Your vibration will be lifted and you will rise above. It doesn’t mean people aren’t doing it, but you won’t experience it in front of you.

2. Switch your focus to the positive.

Remember: Problems may only be avoided by excersing good judgement. Good judgment may only be gained by experiencing life's problems. Jim Stovall

Tip #1 is a gradual process and it’s something that doesn’t happen overnight. In the meantime, practicing to switch your focus to the good of others and the good of yourself works well.
Next time you find yourself being heavily judged and feeling down, switch your focus on everything you have achieved.  You have come a long way and have had great accomplishments. You are doing the best you can and you know that. In fact, the better you do the more nay-sayers there will be. So, by creating the habit to switch your focus and draw from that inner confidence will allow you to positively deal with judgment.

The highest spiritual practice is self-observation without judgment. – Swami Kripalu

 3. Don’t take personal offense.

Remember: You can't change how people feel about you, so don't try. Just live your life and be happy.

If someone is being critical of you, remind yourself that their opinion is coming from their limited perspective. They aren’t you and they haven’t lived a day in your shoes. Therefore, their opinion truly doesn’t matter. In fact, sometimes when someone is (on some level) jealous of you, they will purposely try to pick you apart. It makes them feel better.
To let go of negative thoughts, learning not to take offense of judgement can be tough, especially if it’s coming from someone you love. You may feel like you have to take offense and reply on the defense to protect yourself. But, the better choice is just to shrug it off.
It takes strength to shrug it off. That strength comes from an inner confidence of knowing you do the best you can. If you find it hard to do, ask yourself if there is some truth (even a little) in what they are saying. Sometimes compassionate judgement can help us improve and grow.

If you judge people, you have no time to love them. - Mother Teresa

4. Leave the situation.

Remember: Leave people to their opinions and judgement, they cannot harm you, it is their understanding that is faulty, not yours.

So, if you have tried all of the above tips and you are still receiving destructive judgement (not compassionate, loving feedback) that you cannot handle it’s best to leave the situation and create limits in your relationship with that person.  Negative environments, especially with people you really care about, can quickly effect your personal happiness and self-growth. You need to thrive in this world and there are enough outside influences that we have to overcome. We need to surround ourselves with loving, positive people who care about our well being and think about our highest good.
Love is the absence of judgement – The Dalai Lama
Conclusion: People are going to judge you, but the best defense is knowing who you truly are, what you want and where you are going.
Maybe someday there will come a time when judgement no longer exists.  There’s a beautiful freedom in allowing each of us to be ourselves.  Together, let’s create a brighter future with compassion, and freedom for all without any judgement!
